WINTER BASKETBALL 2023-2024

We're excited to welcome back Boys' & Girls' Grades 2-12 for UDJAA Basketball! And new this year, we are introducing 3rd grade travel basketball.

The travel program is for 3rd--8th grade girls and boys. Travel tryouts will be starting in October. The travel basketball season begins with a Thanksgiving tournament. Regular season begins around New Year's and usually ends in early March. We play in the ICBA League.

Travel tryouts will include at least two or possibly three evaluations. Your child must attend at least one tryout to have a chance to make a travel team. As of now, we need coaches for the girls 3rd and 4th grade travel teams. Email us if interested.

The Intramural leagues for the girls are grades 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, and 8-12. The boys Intramural program includes grades 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12. Intramural practices will begin after Thanksgiving break. Games begin first week of January and run through mid-March.

Teams in our 2-3 grade intramural leagues are set by the commissioner. We try to keep the teams organized by school, but sometimes the teams may be split. We can not take requests to be with any player. Siblings will be kept together.

Teams in our 4-12 grade intramural leagues are organized strictly by a draft. All players must have a rating to play in our program. All players new to UDJAA Basketball must attend an evaluation session to be eligible for the draft.

Players who are on the JV basketball teams for girls and boys are allowed to play in our intramural program.

Our fees this year are $290 for travel and $160 for intramural. Financial aid is available if your family needs assistance. Please register as soon as possible. Registration will end Sunday, October 1. If leagues fill up sooner, players will be placed on a wait list. After October 1, a late fee of $25 will be charged and placement is not guaranteed.

You must register for travel if you wish to try out. If your son or daughter gets cut from travel and wants to play intramural, you will be refunded the difference between travel and intramural. If you should register for intramural, you can not try out a travel team.

Just a reminder that after the teams are formed, there are no refunds if your child decides to drop out. If your child has another sport or commitment on the same day as our games, please make our league your priority. We try to include as many kids as possible and wouldn’t want anyone or any team to be affected by “no-shows.” Thank you for your consideration.

Our Intramural game days are as follows (times and locations TBD):

Friday evenings

  • Girls 6-7

Saturdays

  • Girls and Boys 2-3
  • Girls and Boys 4-5
  • Boys 6-7
  • Boys 8-9

Sundays

  • Girls 8-12
  • Boys 10-12

IMPORTANT: we need people to volunteer to serve as commissioner for Girls 2-3, 4-5 and 6-7; and Boys 2-3 and 4-5. Email us if interested.

The program cannot run without coaches, so please volunteer on the registration form to be an Intramural head coach or assistant coach. Thank you in advance for your participation. Be sure to include your child's current grade, not last year's, when you register.
